ACU has secured a Veteran Wellbeing Grant from the Commonwealth Veterans Affairs Department to support student veterans and their families in leading successful lives post-military service. The former Counselling suite, located behind the campus café in Building 205, has been selected as the site for the new Veterans Lounge.
The space will undergo renovations, including removing existing finishes and partition walls, to create a welcoming environment featuring three office spaces, a six-person shared work zone, a five-person meeting room, a kitchenette with integrated dining, a lounge and dining space, two focus hubs, and a drop-in collaboration and flexible study area.
Additionally, the project includes an upgrade to the Distribution board, which also powers the adjoining café and cold storerooms. Careful planning ensures that power supply remains uninterrupted during the upgrade, maintaining continuous service for all connected facilities.
