Nigel Love Building
Sydney Airport is the busiest of its kind in Australia – handling tens of millions of passengers every year, both domestically and beyond our borders. Girvan was engaged to convert a cold shell space at the international sector of the airport into a new meeting and collaboration zone for staff, in conjunction with designers Davenport Campbell.
Sydney Airport’s distinct style and colours formed the base palate for the build – using soft timber, burnt orange and sleek black across the floor. Works included a new boardroom, meeting rooms and a training area, capitalising on the natural light and views out to the airport’s runway.
A welcoming café-style kitchen and bar offers booth seating, and a large share table for collaboration. The space boasts multiple break-out areas, and feature lighting that ties each corner together. A new staircase connects the space to existing floors, creating an open environment for staff.
The build was completed while the site was live, careful consideration was taken to ensure minimal disruption.
