University of Central Queensland
The University of Central Queensland engaged Girvan to refurbish an existing teaching space into 2 PC2 laboratories. The new laboratories will be utilised in the University’s medical undergraduate, post graduate and research courses. With the introduction of the Pathway to Medicine and the Masters of Laboratory Medicine, the usage of the PC2 laboratories will increase significantly which necessitates the construction of these new facilities.
The project included the design and construction of two (2) new PC2 Laboratories in Building 33 of the Rockhampton North Campus. The existing space required demolition in readiness for construction of the laboratories.
The works also includes the storeroom facilities for each Laboratory and a bank of four (4) fume cupboards in each Laboratory. The new space also included a preparation room and work room with a sink and bench for prep work and as well as a bench to sit and storage space.
